Steve Jobs was one of the individuals who developed the concept and introduced the iPod Touch in the market. This device has been circulating the market for over a year now and its popularity has increased over the past few months. In just a very short time, Apple’s iPod Touch was able to revolutionize the portable music players. Many people claim that the iPod Touch is simply an iPhone but without the actual phone. The basis for the iPod Touch is the mobile platform and it’s even included in the web browser of Apple called Safari.

The device is similar to the popular iPhone but there are some differences. The user interface is graphical and multi-touch just like the iPhone. It also has a sleek design but the iPhone has more attractive features. Unlike the iPhone, the iPod Touch has no microphone, Bluetooth compatibility, GPS receiver, and camera. When you’re purchasing an iPod Touch, you might mistake it for an iPhone. When the 2nd generation of the iPod Touch was introduced, the difference between the two gadgets was further blurred since the new iPod Touch featured volume controls and a speaker.

Since the iPod Touch is a portable music/media player, you can also watch your favorite movies in it, whether new or old movies as long as it has been converted to the compatible format. Many iPod Touch owners find it hard to transfer videos or movies to the device. Uploaded videos should be in mpg4 format. If you want, you can find converters online which you can also get for free.

How will you watch movies in your iPod Touch?

First, you need to find a free converter (iPod video) online and download it. Run the downloaded file click ‘choose file’. You can get files from the DVD or the hard drive. DVD files will require you to convert several files and you need to choose the largest size first.

Video aspects can be easily altered through the converter like the quality and size.

After conversion, you need to transfer the files to the iPod Touch. In order to carry out this task, you will need iTunes’ latest version and you can get it from the website of Apple.

A cable is usually provided to connect the iPod as you run the iTunes. Look for the bottom-left icon on the application of iTunes. You should also see a warning about disconnecting first before you remove the cable.

Click the tab for the movies and then click the sync video. Finally, click the ‘apply’ button. In a couple of minutes, you can already watch the iPod Touch movie of your choice.

Every time you want to watch a movie, you can save it in your iPod Touch. Now you can watch any movie even if you’re away from home. If you’re always on the go, just spend a couple of minutes in converting the movies and save it in your iPod. After that, you can already leave home. During your free time, like if you’re riding a bus or taxi, you can watch the movie.

You can even watch the movie together with your friends. So what do you think? iPod Touch is not just for listening to music but it’s also great for watching movies. Search for the converter online now so that you can start saving movies in your iPod. It’s not very difficult to convert the movies so get your own iPod touch now as well.

Ipod - A Music Device Of 21st Century

In 2001, Apple Inc. launched portable media players of 21st century with a brand of iPod. The new range of iPod presents iPod classic which is hard drive based, iPod touch with a touch screen, iPod nano with video display and screenless iPod shuffle. Apart from them, the classic range of iPod includes iPod mini and iPod photo.

These digital music players can be used as external data storage devices but their capacities vary for each model. Music is transferred to the device with the help of iTunes software by Apple Inc. One can store music collection, and also play, tingle or split music from a CD with this software. In addition to that, photos, games, videos and calendars can also be transferred to the iPods that support such features. Apple`s iPods are easy to use.

iPod has created a history by selling 110 million units worldwide since September 2007. Apple`s CEO, Steve Jobs, decided to develop portable music device which is easy to use. He collected his team of hardware and software engineers and launched the product on October 23, 2001. This digital device used to have 5GB hard drive with a capacity to store at least 1000 songs. Apple took Portal Player`s and Pixo`s support to develop this product. Later Apple continued to develop refined versions of iPod.

iPods have the ability to display many audio file formats like MP3, Protected AAC, Audible audiobook, etc. whereas, file formats like JPEG, BMP, GIF, TIFF and PNG can be viewed with iPod photo. Similarly, upgraded versions of iPods can play the most advanced file formats. Though Apple doesn`t support Microsoft WMA format, but a converter for Window`s version of iTunes is provided for the same. When an iPod is associated with a computer, music libraries or playlists are synchronized manually or automatically with iTunes. 5G iPods come with click wheel to control the volume and 5 buttons which are used to play, stop, and go to next track, etc.

In order to provide songs for iPods, Apple launched an iTunes Store which can be accessed through iTunes. Rate per song varies from country to country. Buyer can purchase as many songs as he wants and enjoy the protected content. This Store became extremely successful immediately after its launch and then Apple made videos also available for sale in 2006. The purchased songs were downloaded with added encryption of AAC format as FairPlay DRM system. Later, DRM was made free in order to cease the manufacturing of pirated CDs.

In 2007, Apple reduced its rates for iTunes Plus songs and also of DRM coded tracks. Since iPod doesn`t play songs from its rival DRM technologies, it has bounded it`s user to iTunes Store only. With this Apple made limited profit, but later it enables to play music from online stores like eMusic or Amie Street. In 2007, Apple launched iTunes WiFi Music Store that enables a user to download songs from his iPhone or iPod. The downloaded media from iTunes Stores is transferred from iPods to computer with the help of software called iTunes 7 or above.

The sound quality on iPod can be enhanced with the equalizer, but one should keep in mind that high volume can cause bass distortion. The use of hardware in iPods like microcontroller, batteries, Audio chips etc. exclusively depend on the version of iPods. Upgraded iPods are available with more advanced technology. These days lots of accessories are marketed for iPods not only by Apple but also by other parties too. These accessories may enable a user to have FM radio tuners, wired remote controls etc.

iPods have marked their importance in the field of Education also, as it enables the user to download information, lesson plans etc. Apple is continuously working to bring upgrade versions of iPods.

The Technical Aspects Of IPods

Get to know the reason why iPod has become a top seller as an mp3 player device.

iPods are convenient media players which was launched in October 2001. It was a model of media player which was designed as well as marketed only by Apple initially. iPods have become a very popular device among the youth due to its compact size and great use. The most important reason for the popularity of iPods is its portable size. Apple offers you a wide range of design with features ranging from a simple music player to a 2 inch wide screen for video viewing. Among these, the most popular design even now, is the simple digital audio player. The player consists of a central click wheel which is one of the reasons that makes iPod very easy and fast to use.

The iPod shuffle is different from the common range of iPod. The iPod mini was commonly preferred until the introduction of iPod nano. The iPods, like many other digital audio players, also have the capacity to work like an external data storage device i.e. you can store data in an iPod just like any other storing device.

The software generally used for the conversion of music into the iPod`s format is the Apple iTunes. iTunes have the capacity to create a complete music library on your computer as well as play music for you from a CD. Along with these you can also transfer videos, photos as well as calendars into the device that would help you.

Apple, the manufacturer of iPod chiefly focused on the development of its user interface and its ease of use for us, instead of its technical capabilities. The approach has got mixed response from the users.

How would you judge the quality of any electronic equipment? The answer is its durability, guarantee as well as its connectivity. And in the case of iPods, for better connectivity a Fire Wire connection was used to connect it to your computer which not only allows data updates from your computer but also recharges your iPod`s battery. You can also recharge the battery with the help of a power adapter.

For allowing USB or Fire Wire connectivity you can include a dock connector. The dock connector also brings you opportunities like exchanging sound, power and data with an iPod that has actually created a wide market of accessories. The iPod shuffle of second generation uses a single 3.5 mm jack that works both as a headphone jack and as a data port. The iPods of fourth generation as well the iPod mini recharges itself from the USB connection itself. Due to the widespread adoption of USB 2.0, Apple discontinued the use of Fire Wire for the purpose of data transmission.

With the growing popularity of iPods, a large number of accessories are now available for you to use with it. Among these, a large fraction is created by third party companies; however Apple has also created some of the accessories like iPod Hi-Fi. The range of accessories has grown so much that the complete market of iPod and its accessories has been named as iPod ecosystem!

There are a number of accessories that could add features to your iPod that are normally included in other music players, but are not available on an iPod. For e.g. FM radio tuners, sound recorders, visual/audio cables for connectivity to television as well as wired remote controls. Likewise, there are other accessories that would offer unique features to your iPod like Nike+iPod pedometer as well as a camera connector to an iPod.

The excitement instilled by the looks and the Zen-like simplicity of the device has certainly raised the level of expectation from the entire consumer electronics industry. The iPod has changed our lives in a number of ways. Its insular nature shields us in public places with a collection of our favorite music!

What Makes Ipod Docking Station A Truly Worthwhile Buy!

ipod docking station
iPod Docks can be termed your iPod's most flexible, friendly and functional companion. Let's find out how!

If you happen to spend considerable time watching video on your tiny iPod, we are sure that you've also yearned to watch it on a full size screen when at home. You've also probably wished to listen to your iPod music through your funky Hi-Fi speakers instead of irritating earbuds. An Pod Dock grants you both the wishes!

An iPod Dock acts a practical solution to both of the above-mentioned problems you often face. You simply need to slot your iPod into it, and connect the Dock to your television and Hi-Fi. Once you do this, you are all set to enjoy your videos and music. You can do so by simply using the emote control to choose your favorite videos and music - comfortably seated in your armchair.

An iPod Dock is a multi-faceted instrument. Let's follow what more an iPod Dock can do for you:
- It connects to your PC, so you can easily sync your MP3 files using iTunes.
- You can use your iPod to hold your music/video collection, rather than having to use a DVD player and CD player.
- It's much more convenient to see a video with friends if it's on a big screen, than if you're all crammed round a small sized iPod!

Based on their quality and performance, iPod Docks vary in price! But it all depends on your budget and exact requirements. Keeping in mind the fact that modern technology ensures optimum output even from the cheapest electronic goods, there seems to be no apparent advantage in paying over the odds for a Dock. You'll get pretty much the same audio & video quality either way. If you want, you may also purchase iPod Docks, with built in speakers. However, you will need to spend a lot of cash to get a good audio quality (especially bass) as you would from a normal Hi-Fi system, or even normal PC 2.1 speakers (with a subwoofer).

With some iPod Docks, you can connect the Dock to a speaker of your choice; Hi-Fi speakers obviously being the best bet. There are also good quality PC speakers available at a reasonable cost, which will give you adequate bass. Many iPod Docks, which come with smaller speakers, generate audio output that is similar to a pocket `tranny' (transistor radio), but you might get disappointed by it.

iPod Dock also recharges your iPod's battery even while it sits in the dock. Thismensures that you never run out of power when on the move. If you keep your iPod in your Dock, rather than lying around, you are much less likely to forget where you kept it! iPod Docks generally come with a set of different sized iPod adaptors, so they'll fit most of the different iPod models that are on the market. In every sense, iPod Docks are very flexible and convenient to use!

Your one-stop shop for quality iPod accessories at very competitive pricing so that you can easily connect your iPod to your TV, your HiFi, or your car radio using iPod docking stations.

Get More Out of Your iPod with iPod Touch Accessorie

funny iPod accessories
Prior to the advent of the iPod, the music industry was a pretty depressed arena. Record sales kept declining, artists were performing poorly at concerts with increasing ticket prices. With the inception of the MP3, digital music became a household idea. But with the invention of the iPod, this idea was truly given the wings to fly to a whole new level.

The iPod made digital music into the only truly accepted, astute and befitting kind of music. A lot of musicians who have the capability to produce awesome singles are often unable to produce a whole album filled with great songs as they are often under pressure to create a hit for radio first and foremost and then fill the rest of their albums with junky songs. As a result a lot of music lovers who ofttimes purchase this album for that excellent single are left feeling like they threw their money away.

As a by-product of iTunes and the iPod, lovers of music have the abilty to simply purchase the hit single as opposed to the whole album and enjoy all their adored hit songs instead of having an enumerate number differing single CDs! With the invention of the iPod Touch, Apple emphasised on ease of use of their digital music and video players.

A state of the art touch screen that is intricately engineered to reduce the effort required in using every one of the iPod's funtions, has become the focal point of these current iPods. However as new iPods are developed, it becomes necessary to re-design accessories, and iPod Touch accessories are definitely quintessential, especially and absolutely befitting the iPod Touch owner.

If the iPod is fashionable, the iPod Touch is even more fashionable! It is absolutely definable of a class, an object much more than a basic music player. iPod Touch accessories are thought out to bring out the abilities of this awesome player. They are especially cultured for the size, shape and functionallity of this appreciative iPod. As a by-product, iPod Touch accessories are absolutely the only accessories that are suited for this exceptional iPod.

It is indeed important to ensure that you buy the suitable accessories so as to get the best out of your iPods. The iPod Touch can still be fully operable even protective accessories such as cases, carrying bags and arm bands. Because these accessories consider the iPod's touch screen functionallity, the screens are usually left unprotected.

Nonetheless there are other ways to protect the screen such as using cleaners. While the iPod is not in use you may also put it in certain cases designed to protect it from normal wear and tear or accidental damage. For the excersice and running enthusiast you can listen to your favorite while running with the use of an arm band.

Additional iPod Touch accessories makes it possible to share your music in your household or simply play your music through your home stereo system. A variety of docking systems are available to connect the iPod to external speakers or computers in a secure and safe manner thus enabling the music from the iPod to be heard through the external speakers.

These docking systems must also be exclusively designed for the iPod touch. Since iPods comes in different sizes, using a non suitable accessory may not only damage the iPod but also the accessory. These iPod Touch accessories are generally worth the cost as they allow you turn the iPod into a carriable juke box whether it's to bring a party to live or just for listening pleasure.

iPod Unlimited

When the first iPod was launched, nobody had imagined that it would be such a hit. A brain child of Tony Fadell, it was first conceived to provide a better version of an MP3 player. After being turned down by RealNetworks and Phillips, Fadell found support for his project with Apple. Tony Fadell went to work for Apple as an independent contractor, leading a team of thirty people to develop the new MP3 player.

The result was the launch of iPod in October 2001. With the growing popularity, iPod evolved real fast as a device. In just nine years it has incarnated in more than 30 formats plus special editions and color variations.

A creation which was primarily invented for music, has now become a full fledged device supporting photos, videos, movies, games and calendars. It is no longer just a digital audio player, but an easy to use, portable device in which one can store any digital data file.

Along with the iPod, sites offering music downloads for iPods also emerged and grew. Soon, there were sites offering not just music, but also movies, videos and other downloads. The need for the downloading software obviously shot up and this was another great market to explore. Today, there are a number of sites offering iPod downloads and downloading softwares.

Now the main USP for these sites is speed and convenience without compromising on the quality. It is difficult to find a site which offers all these three plus the software.

iPod Download sites generally have a wide range of music, videos, TV shows and sports events. It works on the P2P technology and thus gives the user a wide range of files to select from. What's more? They also provide the software for downloading it to the iPod as well as burn it into a compact disc. Thus, you get the privilege carrying your favorites wherever you go and watching it anyway you like - on your computer, or your home theatre system, your iPod or burn a CD.

A lot of us prefer to get a first hand experience and not just blindly follow reviews, me being one of them. I suggest you check out a few sites for yourself when it comes to downloading speed and quality. Most sites offer DVD quality downloads which is sharp, clear and complete, the entire process takes just a couple of minutes.

The power of iPod is unlimited. Explore and enjoy it to the fullest.

Ipod Nano 4gb Silver: Apple Reaps Profits Again

ipod nano 4gb silver
Apple Inc. launched its latest portable media player iPod Nano 4GB Silver following the success of iPod. The the first generation of the midrange model from the iPod family got introduced in 2005. This latest media player from Apple uses flash memory like its predecessor iPod Shuffle but with a miniaturized version of the display screen and click wheel. Since introduction, this model has been updated twice by the company. It is the use of flash memory that makes this model different from iPod Classic.
The new Apple iPod Nano 4GB Silver is comfortable in working with iTunes on Mac OSX and Microsoft Windows. This latest version of iPod gets connected to the computer through the proprietary dock connector in the same way as the third and fourth generation iPods did. It took just nine months for the iPod nano to get developed. Available in a choice of two colors of black and white, this media player also has 4GB memory that could store 1000 songs. The new Apple iPod nano 4GB silver takes the support of general-purpose integrated circuits. This latest model from Apple weighs 50% lesser than its successor. There was a high enthusiasm in the market during the launch of the Silver. The positive response resulted in the heavy sales that created wonders. Apple Inc. succeeded in reaping heavy profits with the sale of this iPod.

Along with this media player, Apple has also released some accessories which includes armbands, and silicone "tubes." These accessories protect the media player from scratches. The combination of lanyard-earphone accessory that hangs around the neck avoids the tangling of earphone cords. Even though this media player from Apple uses the same connection as Apple’s FireWire iPod Cable, it does not support synchronization over a fire wire connection. The Silver has a stop watch and a multiple time zone clock function. It also has a click wheel feature that will lock the iPod when not in use and secures the calendar and contact. There were minor criticisms against this model. But they got settled in days and the sales jumped up creating new records.

Looking Inside An iPod

apple iPod nanoiPod represents a wide array of moveable media players which have been designed and are sold by Apple Inc. It was first launched in October 2001.

iPod models generally cover digital audio players with a central click wheel to iPod Shuffle that uses various buttons because of its small size. iPod Nano, a fifth generation, was launched in September 2006. This led to discontinuation of iPod mini, which it stored the data on an internal hard disk. iPod Shuffle and Nano employ flash type of memory for smaller size. These devices also act as an external medium for data storage.

iPod was inspired by the shortcomings of existing digital music players, which were not physically compact and the user interface were not very friendly.

Apple assembled a group of engineers and within a year, it unveiled the iPod. It was launched as a product which was Macintosh compatible with a hard drive of 5 GB. Apple used PortalPlayer`s reference for its software. The company Pixo helped iPod for developing user interface. But these were refined by Apple after development.

The naming of the device as `iPod` was suggested by Vinnie Chieco, who is a freelance copywriter. Coincidently, Apple had the name registered for `internet kiosks`, but it never used it for this purpose.

iPod can run MP3, M4A/AAC, AIFF, Protected AAC, Audible Audio book and WAV format. It also introduced the displaying of images ability with PNG, TIFF, GIF, BMP, and JPEG formats. The 5th generation models can even play MPEG 4. From the 2nd generation model, the software also started working with Windows along with Macs. It doesn`t support Microsoft`s WMA audio format. WMA and MIDI files can be changed using iTunes, a service provided by Apple through which you can view and download latest songs and movies on your device player.

iPods having colored displays use texts and graphics which are anti-aliased and sliding animations. The operating system is stored in a dedicated storage medium of the device. Each device player has 32 MB Ram, though later ones have 64 MB Ram. Most of it is used to cache songs through the storage medium.

Apple also added PDA type functionality so that text files can be viewed and an address book can be maintained through a computer. Also, some built-in games like brick are also included. In fifth generation iPod, the brightness of the screen can be adjusted and games can be downloaded from iTunes Store.

For first and second generation models, as well as Nano and Shuffle, internal lithium polymer batteries are used and for third and fifth generation models, internal lithium batteries are used. Initially, iPods came with a FireWire connection for charging the device, but with introduction of multipurpose USB ports, they became outdated. Recent iPod models can be charged using USB 2.0.

Many accessories, even by third parties, have been made for iPods. Some additional accessories developed by Apple were sound recorders, FM Radio Tuners, Remote Control and Audio-Visual Cables for TV. Other accessories are external speakers, protective cases, and wireless earphones. Third parties manufacturing most of these accessories are Griffin Technology, Belkin, Bose, and SendStation.

BMW vehicle manufacturer was the first car company to launch an iPod automobile interface, thus allowing newer vehicles to control iPod through steering wheels. Later Apple made this technology available to many other car brands too. Even certain Airlines started provided iPod connectors in the seat.

Apple markets its own iPod earphones and claims that they are better fitting for ears and provide better sound quality. Since it was launched, iPod has been market leader in digital players because of their high quality, supreme aesthetics and ease of use. With more cash flowing into research every year, there is no reason for this fact to change.

Apple iPod Shuffle: A tiny device with huge features

i pod shuffle golden
Apple unleashed the digital audio player with quite a few outlooks. As a matter of fact, it decided to launch this player mainly after receiving an outstanding name in the electronic souk. After the launch of this amazing device, Apple Inc. took no time in grabbing a huge part of the market share. The digital audio player turned into an instant hit and immediate hot selling gadget in the market, thanks to its really mind blowing features.

The digital audio player iPod Shuffle was developed and promoted by Apple Inc. that almost marked the commencement of a rebellion in the field of music. It needs to be mentioned in this context that the Shuffle is the first iPod to employ flash memory. Earlier, all the other iPods were stocking up data on a hard disk. Moreover, this media playing device is one of the most cost-effective models coming from the family of Apple.
